        Unit 1: Ezra and Nehemiah
The books of Ezra and Nehemiah show how God fulfilled his words written by the prophets concerning the return of the people of Israel from 70 years of captivity. To accomplish His divine will, God changed the hearts of the great kings of the ancient world to bring about the rebuilding of the wall in Jerusalem, the Temple of Solomon, and the reestablishment of the law of Moses.
Unit 2: Philippians, Colossians, and Philemon
The books of Philippians, Colossians, and Philemon, along with Ephesians, are often called “the Prison Epistles.” Philippians teaches us that Christians, because of the hope we have in Christ, can be joyful even in the midst of hardship and suffering. Colossians shows that Jesus Christ is head over all things. Through His death on the cross, He has made it possible for all to be reconciled to Him. And Philemon is a personal letter written by Paul and is a plea for Philemon to forgive his runaway servant Onesimus, who was a new believer in Jesus Christ.
