Bethel is not just a church; it is the connection to community. We are committed to growing Christ-centered relationships that are centered around God’s Word. That is why we encourage everyone to be a part of a small group where relationships are developed and nurtured through Biblical understanding.

Journey Connect Group – (Couples and Singles)
Led by: Pastor Ron and Jan Meador
Location: Main Building – Welcome Center (west wing)
This group is currently watching an episode of The Chosen each week. The Chosen is a television drama based on the life of Jesus created, directed and co-written by American filmmaker Dallas Jenkins. Jenkins’ intention was not only to dig deeper into the people who encountered Jesus and to see Jesus through the eyes of those who met him, but also to show him in a way that is more “personal, intimate, immediate.”
Pastor leads the group in discussion afterwards bringing out the lessons that are important for us to learn to be productive and effective for God.
Ron and Jan Meador came to Bethel in October 1983. They moved to Duncan with the prayer that God would allow them to pastor the church for at least ten years. Now nearly four decades later, the church continues to thrive and move forward under the leadership of Pastor Ron and Jan.
Senior Adults – Couples and Singles (60+)
Led by Bennie and Mary Grissom
Location: Fellowship Hall (Main building – south end)
This group consists primarily of retirees who enjoy fellowship, food and biblical devotions. Our desire is to see people connect and grow in God even in our retirement years. We cover many topics with the leading of the Holy Spirit.
Bennie and Mary are retired ministers and have pastor four churches in over 50 years of ministry. We love people, working for God and being used where God leads us.
Adult Couples and Singles (50+)
Led by Rob & Vicki Howard and David & Kathy Taylor
Location: Rob & Vicki Howard’s home (call church office, 580-255-2745, for address)
The group is viewing the video series Haggai: Building God’s Church by Dave Cornes from RightNow Media. Brother Cornes says on his website that we should “consider this book a wakeup call. Don’t you just want to be stirred up in your devotion to God’s work? He’s given you everything you need. It’s not going to be easy. But God says, ‘I’m with you. I’m powerful. And I’m going to bless you as you build my church.” During the time of study, discussion centers around how to apply scripture to our daily lives to deepen our walk with God and to live effectively for Him.
This group also has a time of fellowship as they enjoy sharing a meal/dessert together. This gives everyone an excellent opportunity to build lasting friendships.
Adult Married Couples (30’s and 40′)
Led by Duane and Cortney Lovett
Location: “Schoolroom” (children’s building-west wing)
The group’s vision is to create a close connection with the middle age / younger married couples at Bethel; to help this age group stay consistent, get and stay close to God as they raise families in this ever changing environment.
Duane and Cortney have been married 22 years. They have three girls: Carson, 14; Cameron, 11; and Charlee, 8. Duane has been a member of Bethel for over 25 years and Cortney has been attending Bethel for over 30 years.
Ladies (All ages)
Led by: Beverly Deihl
Location: Main Building – Choir Room (center of the main building)
This group of women love God, His Word and one another. They are women who pray together in agreement and are there for one another in the good times and bad times, sharing life together; encouraging one another in the Faith to be ready when Jesus comes to call us home.
These women have a vision to see the lost saved, to see a great awakening and revival in our land, to see America saved!
The group is reading through the book: “Conquering the Spirit of Death” by Becky Dvorak.
Ladies (All ages)
Led by: Dana Shea
Location: Main Building – Office Conference Room (west wing)
This group is eager to outgrow the conference room. All ladies are welcomed and age doesn’t matter as we are all young at heart.
Our group does different video series and has group discussions after the video. Our current series is Shelia Walsh’s “The Shelter of God’s Promises.” The following is a description of the study from Christianbook.com: “Gain a trust in God that will sustain you for life! Weaving together her hallmark storytelling, personal experience, and Scripture, Women of Faith speaker Walsh unveils 10 foundational promises of God that safeguard our lives during the most difficult times. Discover how encounters with Christ are the eternal fulfillment of his unrelenting commitment to us.”
This group has a private Facebook page to share the videos, prayer requests and other encouragement as well as church happenings.
